Labouring together with one vision - to help those in need

Raising the Roof Campaign

Renovations are under way in the Safe and Warm Shelter to expand our space and ensure we have covid safety guidelines in place. But we can not do it alone! We are seeking assistance for the community.  Our fundraising goal is $480,000 in community donations. We are asking you to donate what you can or to consider donating $20 a month for a year or a one time donation of $240. Please visit the Donation link on this website to learn how you can donate. Please indicate your donation is for the Safe and Warm Shelter Expansion. Thank you

2020 Halloween Food Drive is a GO!

October 31, 2020

The Assiniboine Community College Students’ Association (ACCSA) and the Brandon University Students’ Union (BUSU) have partnered up once again with the Samaritan House Ministries to canvass the streets of Brandon for the 2020 Halloween Food Drive!

Students of both post-secondary institutes in Brandon, along with many other community volunteers, will be heading out on Saturday, October 31st between 5:00pm and 9:00pm to collect non-perishable food items and donations to be used by both the Samaritan House Food Bank, and the BUSU Food Bank.

To volunteer:

At all involved organizations, the safety of those involved, particularly our volunteers, is of the upmost importance. Accordingly, many efforts have been put in place to ensure proper social distancing is attainable, while also allowing the ease of Brandon citizens to provide non-perishable food item donations from the comfort of their front step.

Halloween Food Drive stickers will be distributed in the Thursday, October 29th edition of the Brandon Sun. These can be peeled and affixed to a bag or box and left out on front steps for a Halloween Food Drive Volunteer to collect during the Halloween Food Drive.

For households that will not be participating in Halloween Trick-or-Treating, or feel unsafe having volunteers come to their homes, donations of food items & cash donations may be dropped off directly at the Samaritan House Food Bank at 820 Pacific Ave, Brandon, MB R7A 0J1.

Halloween Food Drive organizers may be required to cancel this event on short notice based on directions from Public Health Orders in Brandon. For the most updated information, please visit or
