FAQs

What does Samaritan House Ministries do?

Founded in 1987, Samaritan House Ministries aims to reach out to the people of Brandon and neighboring communities under the mission statement of "Labouring together with one vision - to help those in need." Operating a Food Bank, Safe and Warm Shelter, Literacy Program, Employment Resource Centre, and Second Stage Housing for women and children fleeing domestic abuse we assist hundreds of people every month through our various programs. Our mission is to work collaboratively with the community and other organizations to help transform lives one step, one client, one success story at a time.

What is the purpose of this fundraiser?

Our event aims to raise funds to support our ongoing programs and initiatives. Providing hampers to our community who don’t know where their next meal may come from, a warm meal and cup of coffee to our shelter clients, and keeping our clients warm with socks, mitts, and toques.

What is an (un)Gala?

During the busiest season of the year, the greatest gift we can give you is your time. An (un)Gala allows us to forgo the traditional formal event to avoid overhead costs, allow our donors to enjoy not attending our event, and spend their time doing whatever they enjoy doing, while still supporting those who are experiencing hunger and homelessness.

Can we donate in other ways?

Yes you can!  If contributing online isn't for you, we will gladly accept donations in person, by cheque, or by e-transfer.

If you have any questions or would like more information please get in touch with us at exec@samaritanhouse.net.
